Optical Metrology for Manufacturing

Thursday 12th October

A little background for you:

UK industry has an increasing need for higher quality products in the quest for global competitiveness and optical techniques are being used more and more as the solution. By embracing techniques for online measurement productivity can also be improved.

This meeting will bring together leaders in industry, research institutes and universities to discuss the latest developments and new applications for optical metrology. This conference will highlight principles and systems available for metrology along with detailed examination of selected applications.

The following will be discussed: Calibration systems, metrology of laser welding, laser shearology, laser vibrometry, process metrology, flow velocity measurement accuracy, metrology of projectors and of robots in manufacture.

Registration:

It is free to attend this meeting and the rest of the conference. Registration gives you full access to two exhibitions, Photonex and Vacuum Expo, as well.

Technologies in the exhibitions:

Exhibitors will have on display: Lasers, interferometers for measuring shape, distance & thickness & instruments for MTF, optical centration, precision motion, characterisation, measurement and analysis equipment.

Other meetings you may like to know about:

Thursday: Optical Engineering & Design

COMMENT FROM PREVIOUS
CONFERENCE

“This meeting will highlight Optical Metrology as a core element of smart manufacturing, enabling both high quality production of complex materials and efficient production through automation. It is a Key Enabling Technology for the Factories of the Future helping the UK to retain international competitiveness in this area.” Dr Roger Groves, Head of the Delft Aerospace Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory
