Lead Salt Lasers – last time buy. Effective December 31, 2011, LASER COMPONENTS will discontinue production of cryogenically cooled MIR laser diodes. For our long-time customers in academic circles we will extend this offer to place one last order until next March.
The first PbSe lasers were produced in the late ‘60s; they reached their technological heyday in the ‘80s and early ‘90s. Both the fundamental scientific and high-resolution gas measurement technology communities originated via tunable diode laser spectroscopy (TDLS).
We have accompanied lead salt laser technology for almost 20 years and made important contributions: increased reliability, demonstration of pulsed operation at room temperature, and the construction of DFB lasers based on lead salt technology.
The necessity of cryogenic cooling in single-mode operation has always hindered wide industrial use. Consequently, TDLS did not achieve its commercial breakthrough until used in the NIR range.

New Avantes USB to Ethernet converter device. The AvaGigE is a converter device which enables their entire line of Avaspec USB controlled spectrometers to plug into the Ethernet. The AvaGigE converter device enables instrument control and data acquisition of Avantes full line of spectrometers through a gigabit Ethernet connection.
The AvaGigE consists of a hardware device which enables connection of a single or up to eight spectrometers (via USB hub) and a web-based configuration utility. The AvaGigE handles all synchronization between channels. Once the connection has been configured, the AvaSpec spectrometers can be addressed via Avantes proprietary AvaSoft operating software or the AS5216 DLL interface. The AvaGigE device supports data transfer speeds which are nearly equivalent to direct USB 2.0 communication.
Features:
• IP-based spectrometer control
• Field upgradable and network settings through web interface
• Can connect multiple AvaGigE to a single network
• No Windows drivers needed; controlled directly through Avantes DLL with Ethernet support
• Maximum network cable length up-to 100 meters - MORE>>

Laser 2000 will be showing the new photodiode power meter heads from Laserpoint. These sensitive detectors for low power measurements offer a high resolution of 1 nW. The heads are available in UV, IR and Visible formats. The 4pi touch screen power and energy meter readout unit will also be on display. This is compatible with the whole range of laserpoint power and energy meter heads. The touch screen display, associated with intuitive software based on OS Windows CE 5.0, allows the user to interact easily with the instrument and quickly set it up for measurements - MORE>>
