Novel Sources & Detectors
Call for Papers
“The last decade has witnessed many advances in sources and detector technologies and innovation continues. Reduced costs and innovations have ensured a steady adoption of photonics technologies and use in many different fields such as environmental, medical, imaging, industry, security, remote sensing and communications.
This meeting, the second on the subject to be held at Photonex, will draw on its success last year and will include a wide variety of exciting technologies now being investigated and developed in the UK and Europe.
The generalised themes are:
• Innovative and novel sources and detectors
• Advances in device physics and component engineering
• Novel packaging technologies
• Realisation of multi-functional emitter-source solutions
Application wavelengths will be from UV to far infra-red.”
Dr Jason Slack, Meeting Programme Organiser
Deadline Date for Paper Submission: 3rd September 2010
This meeting will be an important opportunity to network with leaders in novel sources and detectors technologies. For those new to these technologies this will be an excellent chance for professional
development.
Original contributions are welcome on all aspects of novel sources and detectors - we particularly invite contributions in the following, though not exclusive areas: Lighting technologies • Medical physics • Chemical and gas sensing • Fibre sensors • Metrology • Quantum wells and dots • Novel packaging • Terahertz emitters and detectors • Monolithic integration • Cavity and cascade lasers |
The Committee
The technical program committee comprises:
Dr Jason Slack (Programme Organiser - Renishaw)
Prof Mohamed Missous (University of Manchester)
Dr Wyn Meredith (CST Global Ltd)
